Meet Toni

MeeT TonI
Hi! I'm Toni. I hold a doctorate in psychology, with a concentration in neuropsychology. My adjunct career spans 26 years, predominantly in psychology; although I have also taught human services, sociology, and criminal justice.
My teaching background includes traditional and online learning and I have been developing graphics, videos, and interactive tutorials for my online classes since 2008.
I grew up and was educated in the melting-pot: New York. My nascent career began in 1996, at Queens College/CUNY, where I encountered numerous cultures among the student body. I taught in more than one discipline (e.g., psychology & criminal justice) as a young adjunct.
My on-ground, adjunct career brought me to many universities (e.g., SUNY at Farmingdale & NYU) – including Athens, Greece! I gained experience instructing at both the undergraduate- and graduate-levels at community colleges and in 4-year institutions.
I relocated to Florida in 2004. In 2005, I added distance learning to my repertoire (asynchronous & synchronous modalities) and today am proficient in over 5 LMS platforms. Already familiar with both traditional and non-traditional students for nine years, I was thrilled to work with an even more distinct population of students online.
Many of my e-learners were military personnel. These students had a unique set of needs. I was proud to provide them with a quality education from a distance – during active engagement exercises.
I broadened my experience with higher-ed in 2018 and 2019 and currently work with AP Research scorers and pre-med students (i.e., ETS & The Princeton Review, respectively).
I am a poet and I also produce information graphics, educational videos, and job aids on a freelance basis using Camtasia Studios. I seek to expand my prowess in video production and editing and am pursuing more opportunities to that end. Currently, I am designing several websites and am developing a documentary on mental illness.
A homebody at heart, I enjoy the balmy south Florida weather in my spare time with my little dog, Duncan.
My fortune has been rich and diverse over this quarter century and I am ever eager to expand my knowledge base, student base, and skill set as my career continues to evolve.
